I loved everything about Delaney Shaw. From her introverted personality, to her being someone who needs the challenge of a dare to feel like she can let loose, and her love of all things Star Wars and cats. She has such a huge heart, but burned by love and a cheating football player boyfriend, she has sworn off athletes for future relationship potential.
Maverick Monroe first met Delaney during a party freshman year. He missed out on his opportunity then and Delaney was soon in a relationship with one of his teammates. Fast forward two years when the chance came to make his move this time he didn’t hesitate. A few sexy texts, changing seats in psychology, and a dare later, he is not willing to back down.
Mav’s life is very complicated and he makes choices to take care of his sister that could ruin his future chances with the NFL, but he doesn’t know what else he can do. Instead of involving Delaney he shuts her out and there’s no telling if she’ll stay around for him to win her back.
As the mother of two gorgeous, book smart, “nerdy” girls (the oldest even dates a football player), Delaney Shaw is hands down my book girl crush. I absolutely love her, but I have a soft spot for Maverick too! I Dare You is already one of my top reads for 2018!! When Jen and I met Ilsa Madden-Mills in 2016, I actually said to her that I didn’t think she could ever top Dirty English for me. She told me to tell her that after she released Filthy English….. I couldn’t. I loved Filthy English equally as much, but I have to say I Dare You just topped both, and I never thought I would say that. Thank you Ilsa for another great read!
